Spling’s Galileo Pick of the Week: Dead Poet’s Society

Dead Poet’s Society @ Bloemendal Wine Estate (13 Mar)

Robin Williams is at his best in Dead Poet’s Society, a must-see that invigorates literature, “sucking the marrow out of life” and the sacred relationship between a teacher and their students. Inspiring, powerful and bristling with vitality, this fine film is laden with quotable quotes and remains steadfast decades on. Williams is a pleasure to watch, managing to imbue joy and sorrow, operating with a joie de vivre.

Look out for a young Ethan Hawke in Peter Weir’s wonderful drama, which continues to inspire and uplift audiences.

This thoughtful and deeply moving drama is showing under the stars at The Galileo Open Air Cinema.
